Find Yourself Asleep at the Wheel at Times?


There are times when we all may find ourselves “asleep at the wheel” or wanting to put off until tomorrow certain responsibilities that should be addressed today.  “It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.” ~ Josiah Charles Stamp

 

So what may be some of the things that could be holding you back from meeting certain responsibilities? Could it be fear, self-inflicted sabotage, procrastination, mental road blocks, feelings of being overwhelmed, perceived excuses like time, or uncertainty of what steps to take next? The common theme here is that all of these reasons are in your mind. Only YOU and you alone can control and change your thoughts.

 

Begin to first gain clarity of what is stopping you from taking action. Take a few moments of peaceful, meditative and honest thoughts in order to zero in on what could be controlling your actions. Making lists may help in clarifying the action needed, but making lists could actually be delaying the responsibility that needs to be taken.

 

Zeroing in on your thoughts and emotions of what is stopping you or holding you back is the key to motivating you to moving forward. Become aware of your inner guidance system and listen, really listen. Then trust yourself enough to take action from your inner guidance system.

 

By gaining clarity, listening and trusting your inner guidance system – that “little voice” and then by taking inspired action, we can avoid certain potential problems and consequences that could escalate by putting things off until tomorrow.

 

It may sound simple enough because it really is. Once you realize that YOU are the only one who can control your thoughts and perception on things, inspired action always does follow. Go for it!
