Don't Quit

Mondays are often days where we take a deep breath and decide to move forward with our goals for the week. Sometimes they are days when we question if we're even on the right path at all. Regardless of which mindset is yours today, I'm sharing one of the most inspirational poems I've ever read (by an anonymous writer) about perseverance. If you have a dream or goal you're working toward but are feeling discouraged or disheartened by the timeline and even the outcome, this one's for you. If you know someone who is struggling to stay afloat as the economy wobbles back to its feet, this one's for them. And if you simply need a reminder to keep moving forward despite appearances, then heed this wise advice.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! if you must; but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow;
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
