Feeling Guilty?
“Nothing has a stronger influence psychologically on their environment, and
especially their children, than the unlived life of the parent.” ~Carl Jung
Powerful quote isn’t it?
And one that is absolutely true –and can be a tremendous motivator (for parents
especially) to live-out their lives and dreams fully and be a strong power of
example of what is possible – especially for your children to witness.
Yet, most of us weren’t brought-up by parents who lived life to its fullest –
and continuously evolved into their Best Selves. Rather, the majority of folks
that I speak with grew up believing that they better not get too successful,
too beautiful, too big for their britches, too popular – because if they do,
there will be consequences.
On the Claim Your Worth!® journey, it’s inevitable that the true hold-backs
will be revealed – and it’s imperative to always get into the root cause of a
situation rather than dealing with the symptom.
For example, when I see a client facing a tremendous hold-back – and not being
able to manifest what they truly desire – and they have absolutely no idea why
– I always know that it most likely - boils down to a fear of loss.
And this fear of loss comes down to fearing what other people will think if you
actually claim what you really desire – and become the person you are meant to
become.
Whether it’s friends, family, colleagues – most everybody at one time or
another – dims their light in order to please other people. And dimming your
light essentially is having the unconscious decision to be more committed to
making other people feel more comfortable around you so you stay on the same
level with them.
It sounds crazy at a conscious level but I challenge you to see where in your
life you may be dimming your light – and staying small so that others can feel
more comfortable around you.
And one area in particular that I challenge you to look at is your family
history – and the fear of out succeeding your parents. This is such an
unconscious, but prevalent block for so many people because the guilt of
breaking-up your lineage – and breaking the patterns of what you learned about
being too successful, can be detrimental to your success.
Yet, we are all parents in some capacity – especially parents to ourselves –
and if you read the quote above very closely, you’ll see how imperative it is
that you live as a strong power of example to all of those lives that you
touch. And this isn’t about bragging, or thinking you’re better, it’s about
raising the vibration in a room so your very existence speaks volumes – and so
that your very essence inspires people to continue to evolve into their own
Best Selves.
This is how we make fundamental changes on this planet – and it happens with
you making the choice to Claim Your Worth!® and live by your own light, not
anyone else’s.
As always it’s your choice.
