There are the Trees and There is the Forest
Most of you probably have heard this saying before, “You can’t see the forest for the trees.” What this essentially means is the focus is on the problem (the trees) and that it is hard to see the bigger picture (the forest). You may be focused on the “whys” of a situation instead of getting to the solutions.
Life happens – sometimes we cannot predict if a problem is headed our way. Sometimes these problems are beyond our control – loved ones’ choices; natural disasters; and other factors causing havoc around us that we did not create.
There may be times where the situation or chaos may be so devastatingly heartbreaking, but the cause of the chaos should not be your focus, the solution should be.
There may be times when reading inspirational messages such as on this website; reading self-help books; attending classes and making a positive vibrational thought choice each day cannot penetrate the confusion and pain that you may be suffering through. The reason that this is so is because you are focusing on the problems (the trees) – you are wandering around lost in the woods and not getting any where instead of focusing on the bigger picture or the solution (the forest).
Once realization sinks in that focusing on the problem does not get you anywhere, then resolve will begin to take place.
First of all, take a deep breath – try to take a few moments when you wake up to truly clear your mind from the problems that are happening around you. Try to think happier thoughts. Again, this could be hard if you are in the midst of a crisis, but keep trying. Give yourself this break.
When you are taking those few moments in the morning offering up positive thoughts, also express feelings of gratitude for the many blessings in your life. You are blessed as we all are – become aware of those blessings and be grateful for them.
Take a step back and really look at the entire situation. Please don’t put blame on yourself or anyone else for the creation of a problem – if this is being done, then you are back to focusing on the problem. You are back to square one. By taking a look at the entire situation, you are one step closer to the solution. Inspired action will begin to manifest itself to finding a solution.
Let it go, let it go, let it go! If a problem exists that has been created by a loved one or other outside forces, realize this is beyond your control. We all have a choice each day to choose well being or not. As we all have our own choice, so do our loved ones. This cannot be forced on anyone. Put forgiveness and compassion in your heart. If they choose to want your help, then of course, help is on the way. This does not mean enabling someone. It means offering supportive help to get to the solution – not supporting the problem.
Be prepared. We are all responsible for our own actions and well being. Sometimes we let things slide that could turn into bigger problems down the road. Take steps and action to avoid certain situations from happening.
Be easy on yourself – love the beautiful person you are. Take time for things you enjoy, eat healthy foods, exercise and get plenty of rest. Your body houses your inner being and your inner being works in unison with a healthy body and mind. Take care of you!
Enjoy life – laugh, live and love. Again, this begins with you – you have a choice every day – what type of day do you prefer to have? Make a positive vibrational thought each day that today is going to be a wonderful day. You really do get more of what you are thinking!
Yes, life can offer up a menu of problems (the trees), but to find your way out of wandering around lost among them, try to know that the solution to these problems exist within the bigger picture (the forest) and you CAN find your way out. As always, it’s only up to you!
