Marla Martenson grew up in a suburb of Seattle, Washington and moved to Los Angeles in 1982. She spent most of the 90’s in Chicago working in the restaurant business and acting in TV commercials. She switched careers in 2001 when she took a job at a video dating service in L.A. and has been working as a matchmaker ever since helping countless couples find the love of their lives.

She is the bestselling author of three books, as well as a matchmaker, life coach and speaker. When she is not writing or making matches, she can be found hiking in the canyons, sipping vanilla soy lattes and trying to perfect her Spanish. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, composer/performer Adolfo Jon Alexi.
