Planting Seeds...

Planting Seeds, Growing your Visions

What visions do you have for yourself this spring, or plan on sowing in your garden now? First you and your soil must be prepared by adding nutrients, and then turning the earth over. Imagine preparing this soil as a way of nurturing your goals, desires, and ambitions for your lives. What are you starting this spring just for yourself? Imagine creating a garden that grows your vision. What would your garden look like in your mind as well as literally? Imagine growing a new relationship with yourself, or with someone special. Imagine taking strides in getting your writing published. Or, as many people look for more prosperity in their life, this week we will work on creating an abundance garden.

The first thing to remember is that prosperity already IS. We don't have to create it...but, we do have to ALLOW it in! Allowing prosperity into our lives is one of our jobs. We have total freedom of choice when allowing prosperity into our lives. We can try to control prosperity, choose what it looks like, when it should arrive, or demand the form it takes. Or we can learn to let go and allow our dreams to come to us better than we could have ever imagined. For myself, I like to think of this freedom of choice as planting a garden. The best I can do is allow the garden to grow in its own way while I feed it, water it, weed it, and watch the seeds burst through the soil. Often parts of my veggie garden succeed beyond my plans. What are you willing to do for a garden of abundance?

Last week I spearheaded an online viral campaign for one of our authors, and hosted an event on FB. While I was excited about what could happen, past unsuccessful campaigns and future tripping on what might happen almost stopped me from moving forward. My fears ran to “what if” nothing happened, “what if” no one showed up, “what if’s” kept running on, and on.  Fortunately, I am learning that holding on to my fears requires a lot of energy, while it is letting go that requires strength. The night of the event I saw myself becoming stronger, as I realized the garden was watered, fed, and announced, we were ready. The success of the event and the campaign was greater than we ever imagined, The Little Book on Relationship, by John English hit #1 on Amazon on May 1st.

This week’s exercise has two parts. First either go to a nursery, or grocery store to buy some seeds and plant them. Your choices for this exercise/garden are what kind of seeds do you want to see grow, flowers or a vegetable? Will you plant these seeds in a clay pot or a garden plot? For those living in the city or without a backyard can you plant your seeds in a clay pot? What kind of light do these seeds require? Learn about how much water, and the kind of soil they need. Plant your seeds with ceremony and meditation, imagining that these seeds represent the abundance that is there for you. Second write about the experience of deciding what you want to plant, and then write about your process of actually planting the seeds. While you continue to write about how it feels to allow abundance in to your life, we will return later this spring to check in on your planting.
