Something of Value

We all have something of value to offer to our loved ones, our jobs, our friends and yes, the world. Do you know, however, that the most precious thing of value is YOU?

This quote from Warren Buffett: “Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.” is short, but pacts meaning into very few words. It could be interpreted in reference to the retail market, however, let’s take a look at it from the perspective of self.

The first question here is about price. “Price is what you pay.”  What price do you pay for everyday life? You may be on a roller coaster of life. You may be getting up early everyday to get you and your family up and out the door, go to a job, take the kids to after-school or sporting events, rush home to fix dinner, help with homework, get the kids ready for bed, get some things done around the house before you can actually hit the bed yourself only to start up and do it all over again tomorrow. Even if you do not have children or a spouse, you may still have put yourself on the fast track to enhance your career and fulfill your goals and ambitions without thinking about the price you are paying.

Do you know what price you are paying for not taking just a little time out for YOU? What is the price of your health, your well being, your time, your rest and enrichment of your soul? Begin by giving yourself the permission to take some moments just for you. Those moments can be whatever you enjoy – a warm bubble bath, reading a book, meditating, going for a walk, being creative or simply closing your eyes and visualizing peaceful harmony in your life.

It’s ok to give yourself permission to allow moments just for you because “Value is what you get.” If you value yourself and take care of yourself, the value you offer to yourself, your loved ones, your job, your friends and yes, the world will simply be priceless! Precious value is what you get and give when you take those moments and take care of yourself!
