Your True Beauty
“Others try to show off their beauty to the world - and others try to hide
their beauty because they want the world to see something else.”
~Quote from Lifetime Movie – Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants
Okay, I admit it – Lifetime Movies are my ‘guilty’ pleasure on a rainy Sunday
afternoon. And I have to say – they have provided tremendous wisdom and some
great insights and quotes that I’ve shared with you here in Note Worthy
many a time.
And the quote above from the movie I watched on Sunday – The Sisterhood of The
Traveling Pants - is no exception.
It inspired me so much that I wanted to dedicate Note Worthy this week
to it - because I feel it speaks so eloquently to what so many women deal with
their whole lives – a struggle with wanting and yearning to feel valued and to
be seen for your inner beauty as well as your outer beauty.
And, as in everything in the journey of awakening in your life as a fully
expressed woman, this desire isn’t necessarily something you may be aware of –
but it’s something to consider if you feel any type of ambivalence with
yearning to feel valued as a beautiful, sexy, desirable woman who is seen and
recognized for your outer beauty – while also being seen, recognized, valued
and respected for your inner beauty as well.
What a concept eh’? Honoring your desires to be seen, valued, recognized, and
feeling special by having a balance of valuing your inner strengths while
allowing yourself to be seen, valued and desired by your outer beauty as well.
In my work, and in my own life, I see why so many women try to hide their True
Beauty out of fear. Fear of being seen, fear of being recognized, fear of not
being liked by other women, or being valued by men, - whatever it is, I see
many of woman try to hide her Real Beauty of fear of not being loved by others
– and would rather suffer in silence than let her True Colors sparkle out of
her like a beautiful stained glass window.
Can you relate?
If you can, then consider what you may be trying to hide. Are you hiding from
your light, your essence, your true colors - in fear that you won’t be taken
seriously if you allow your True Beauty to shine through?
Are you trying to hide your essence and protect your essence and colorful soul
-through being miserable vs. being happy and fully expressed – just so you can
feel accepted and liked by others and allow them to feel more comfortable?
Consider these points.
Your head may reject the concepts immediately – yet simply consider them if you
struggle with feeling fully expressed –or if you struggle with yearning to feel
more feminine, graceful, seen, and desirable for the Fullness of Who You Are –
and not half of who you are.
Whether you focus too much on the outer and don’t honor your inner – or vice versa,
simply consider these points – and ask yourself, where may I not be BEING fully
expressed? Then ask yourself, what about my True Beauty do I need to honor to
feel whole? To feel fully expressed? To feel fully feminine?
Then, simply allow yourself to allow these qualities and aspects to emerge in
the next 30 days and watch what happens!
